Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has sent a clear message to Mikel Arteta as Arsenal prepares to fight for the ball of the title against Paris Saint-Germain. 

The City boss has nothing but to congratulate Arteta and Arsenal on reaching the 2026 UEFA Champions League final, praising the achievement as a boost for both the club and English football.

The gesture underscores the respect between the two coaches and highlights the strong performance of English clubs on the European stage this season. Guardiola’s message stated that the Gunners’ achievement represents a significant success for both the club and English football as a whole. He said:

“I want to congratulate Mikel Arteta and his group on reaching the UCL final - it’s good for Arsenal, but for English football”.

Guardiola added:

“The same like Aston Villa, Crystal Palace. Unai Emery and Glasner are excellent managers”.

In his comments, Guardiola extended praise beyond Arsenal, acknowledging the impressive work of other Premier League managers. He specifically highlighted Unai Emery’s contributions at Aston Villa and Oliver Glasner’s impact at Crystal Palace, pointing to a broader era of excellence among English sides in European competitions.
