During an interview with CNN back in 2018, Marcus Rashford was asked to pick between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo that who is the greatest footballer of all time. For almost two decades, both Messi and Ronaldo have won numerous individual and team accolades so it was always very difficult to choose one between them.
Who did Marcus Rashford choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?
The 27-year-old forward had no problems while answering the question. Rashford claimed that he is a very big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo but always saw Lionel Messi as the greatest.
Some of the stuff that he does is unbelievable. I'm a big fan of (Cristiano) Ronaldo as well, but I think Messi is the greatest ever, Rashford said via SportBible.
Not juts this, Rashford even admired the Brazilian football team of the late 1990s and early 2000s. He said that watching both Ronaldo Nazario and Ronaldinho play together for the Selecao was a memorable experience for him.
I think watching the Brazil team with the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and those type of players was one of my favourite experiences, Rashford added.
Marcus Rashford had the onus of sharing the dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo when the Portuguese returned to Manchester United for his second spell between 2021 and 2022. The Englishman celebrated his 100th goal for the club the same way Ronaldo did it back in 2008.
Rafael Nadal chooses between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Former Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal was asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2023. The 22-time Grand Slam winner was not at all hesitant while choosing one between both as he thinks Lionel Messi is the greatest of all time.
The choice came as a surprise for many as Nadal himself is a very big Real Madrid supporter. He has been spotted in the stands at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Messi or Ronaldo? Messi is better, but I'm a Real Madrid fan, Nadal said via Albiceleste Talk.
Rafael Nadal took the decision to hang up his boots from the sport of tennis back in 2024 after the Davis Cup finals. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are still going strong as Messi plays for Inter Miami and Ronaldo for Al-Nassr.
