According to reports, Major League Soccer giants Inter Miami are interested in signing Ecuadorian prodigy Allen Obando. The 18-year-old currently plays for Ecuadorian Serie A club Barcelona de Guayaquil. He is marked as one of the most exciting Ecuadorian talents in today's time.

Inter Miami interested in signing Allen Obando

Inter Miami didn't hold themselves back during the off-season as the club went on to sign six players. Their latest signing was in the form of Uruguayan center-back, Maximiliano Falcon. He was signed from the Chilean club, Colo-Colo. There are reports that Inter Miami also want to sign Baltasar Rodrigues from Argentine side Racing Club.

According to Bola VIP, Allen Obando is top of the list in Inter Miami's transfer targets as they want to solidify their attack. They have already gone ahead with a $3 million transfer bid for the youngster to sign him from Barcelona de Guayaquil. However, Inter Miami are not the only team interested in buying the youngster as many European clubs have shown their interest.

According to Inter Miami News, Atletico Madrid has already submitted a $5 million bid for Obando. Clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain are keeping a close check on the forward. Other teams who might want to sign are Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart.

However, Inter Miami can lure him into their ranks after promising him first-team action and a chance to share the dressing room with one of the best players to have played the game, Lionel Messi himself. Allen Obando has played 23 games across all competitions this season and has four goals and three assists to his name.

Lionel Messi says Inter Miami will be his last club

Ever since Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami from Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2023, he has scored 34 goals and has 18 assists in the 39 games he has featured in across all competitions.

In an interview done in June 2024, he said that he wanted to retire at Inter Miami.

I think Inter Miami is going to be my last club. Today I think it is going to be my last club. It was a difficult step to leave Europe to come here.

Having become a world champion helped a lot, and also to see things differently. But I don’t think about it. I try to enjoy. That’s why I enjoy everything much more, because I am aware that there is less and less to go and I have a good time, he added.

In 2022, Lionel Messi fulfilled his long desire to lift the FIFA World Cup and become the world champion.
