Despite their dream run in the Premier League, there are still concerns about Arsenal's capacity to control their emotions and take home their first significant trophy under Mikel Arteta. Former Manchester United player, Rio Ferdinand, has an interesting opinion on this.
Gabriel Jesus may be an X-factor for Arsenal in their pursuit of the Premier League title, according to Rio Ferdinand. He asserts that Mikel Arteta's team may gain from the Brazilian's experience.
Gabriel Jesus could be a key player for Arsenal
Ferdinand stated in his official podcast that it is crucial for Arsenal players to control their emotions and that supporters cannot have the power to alter their mood. He wants Jesus to take charge and maintain the proper attitude in the dressing room.
"The biggest point will be, what was the conversation and the reaction like after that result? Was it a feeling of, 'guys, we’re letting it slip, we’ve been here before' and a bit of fear creeping in or did a few of the players rally around the troops and remind the group that they are going to drop points, and it’s about how you react," said the former Manchester United player.
"Who is having those conversations? That’s where experience comes in and that’s where Gabriel Jesus might be critical right now because he’s one of the only ones in that dressing room who has won something. The players are going to be looking for answers and guidance," he concluded.
Arsenal aims to end the title drought
During his time with Manchester City, Gabriel Jesus won four Premier League titles. With their third consecutive second-place finish in the league last season, Arsenal is hoping to capture their first major championship in five years.
Currently, Arsenal leads the Premier League points table with 57 points in 26 matches with 18 wins, six draws and three defeats.
