Host nation Germany will play against Scotland in the first match of Euro 2024 in Munich, the draw, which took place at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, revealed. The tournament which will kick off on June 14 and conclude with the final on July 14 at Berlin's Olympic stadium.
Germany, with three previous victories, is in Group A alongside Hungary, Scotland and Switzerland.
Defending champions Italy are in Group B, facing tough competition from Spain, Croatia, and Albania. This group has been touted as the Group of Death. France and the Netherlands, having both qualified from the same group, are drawn together in Group D along with Austria and the winner of playoff A.

Runners-up of Euro 2020, England, find themselves in Group C alongside Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia. Group E includes Belgium, Romania, Slovakia, and the winners of playoff B. Meanwhile, Group F features Portugal, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and winners of playoff C.
The host cities for the tournament include Munich, Berlin, and eight others. The draw was held in Hamburg, one of these host cities. Germany secured an automatic qualification as the host nation, while the other 20 teams advanced through the European qualifiers. Three additional teams will be determined through playoffs in March.
The Euro 2024 format consists of six groups, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, along with the four best third-placed teams.
