Story Highlights:

JJ Gabriel is ineligible for Premier League action until next season as he turns 15 after the August 31 cutoff date.

The teenage striker has been in red-hot form for United’s U18s, scoring 10 goals in 14 games and earning England youth call-ups.

Manchester United youth sensation JJ Gabriel has trained with the first team a few times this season but has not made debut yet. The highly-rated youngster has been in good form, but reports claim that the Red Devils are blocked from giving him a chance in the Premier League.

Why can't JJ Gabriel make his senior team debut for Manchester United this season?

As per Daily Express, JJ Gabriel can't make his debut in the Premier League until next season. Any player who can play in the season should have turned 15 by August 31, but Gabriel celebrates his birthday in October, which makes him ineligible for this season.

He could have a senior appearance in the FA Cup or the Carabao Cup this season, but was not given the chance. Interim manager Darren Fletcher signaled at Gabriel getting the first-team call-up for the FA Cup Third Round game against Brighton and said:

"JJ is a fantastic talent. I've enjoyed working with him immensely, getting to know him. He's a young lad with a massive sort of hype, you know there's a lot of noise around him and deservedly so because he's a real talented kid. He works hard. First thing I'd say is he loves football. He loves training, he loves playing, he loves having the ball, he loves expressing himself. He makes fantastic decisions."

"He's got an enthusiasm for the game that's just amazing. 15-year-old, a bright future ahead of him. I'm super excited by his talent, but the most important thing is that he keeps developing, and he's in the U18s team, and he's doing fantastically well, but he's still got lots to learn. But I couldn't speak highly enough of JJ. He's got an amazing family and amazing support around him and he's somebody we're delighted to have at the club."

However, Fletcher did not select him in the squad, and they faced elimination against Brighton. The early knockout against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup ended his chances of making the team in the cup tournaments under Ruben Amorim.

JJ Gabriel has been in red-hot form for Manchester United youth side

JJ Gabriel has been playing regularly for the Manchester United U18s this season despite being just 15 years old. The teenager has played most of his games as a striker, while also playing as a left winger when needed.

He has amassed 10 goals and two assists in his 14 games for the U18s this season. Gabriel also has a goal in his two FA Youth Cup games for the Red Devils.

The Manchester United teenager's amazing form has already given him a call-up to England U15s last season. He made his U16 debut this season and has played three times.
