India continued to create scoring opportunities in the second half, but Germany's defense remained resolute. In a final desperate attempt to salvage the game, India pulled their goalkeeper in the final minutes. However, Germany's defense held firm, securing a 2-0 victory.
This was the fourth encounter between India and Germany this year. Germany had emerged victorious in the Paris 2024 Olympics semi-final, defeating India 3-2. However, India had claimed two victories against Germany in the FIH Pro League, winning 3-0 and 3-2.
