Paul Maurice on Brad Marchand and Sam Bennett's goal tally

Brad Marchand scored two goals and Sam Bennett scored one during Florida Panthers' 5-2 victory in Game 5 over the Edmonton Oilers.

Marchand now has six goals in the Stanley Cup Final, while Bennett has five to his name. The combined total of the duo is 11 goals. That is half of Florida's total scoring in the series.

When Paul Maurice was asked why Marchand and Bennett have been so effective in the finals, he said,

If I knew that, I'd have played in the NHL.

Not just this, he went on to praise their mental strength and their ability to stay focused during each and every game.

They don't get too high; they don't get too low. Their energy level’s high; they're very focused on the game. There's a mental toughness there, a mental capacity to stay within the game and not try to break it open. Just wait, be patient.

Maurice even emphasized that patience has a unique meaning in the sport of hockey.

It doesn't mean sit back — I mean they're aggressive men — but the patience part of it is their experience. Paul Maurice added.

With Marchand and Bennett leading the way for the Panthers, the franchise is now one win away from clinching the Stanley Cup on home ice in Game 6.

Paul Maurice speaks on Panthers 5-2 win against Oilers

Brad Marchand got the Panthers on the board in the first quarter of the game. Sam Bennett made it 2-0 in the second quarter, burying a rebound after their penalty kill.

When you're on the road and you can keep the building from lighting up in the first 10 minutes… That's just a big part of the emotions of what goes on. Paul Maurice said on early start.

Marchand scored his second in the third quarter slipping past Jake Walman and sliding the puck through Pickard's leg. Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers as the scoreline was 3-1. Sam Reinhart scored 46 seconds later and restored a 3 goal lead. Corey Perry scored for the Oilers to make it 4-2, but Eetu Luostarinen made it 5-2 with an empty net infront of him.
