Connor McDavid has revealed his future with the Edmonton Oilers.

McDavid still has one year left on his contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

It looks like the Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Following a second straight defeat at the hands of the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals, there were questions raised on his future, but he has put an end to all the speculations for now.

What did Connor McDavid reveal about his future?

The 28-year-old center has got only one year left on his contract as he is eligible for an extension too. Whether by trade or in the free agency, many felt that the defeat would see McDavid on his way out.

However, the Oilers star said,

As you said, yeah, it's only been a couple days since the season ended. take some time to regroup, talk to my agent a little bit, and family and all that, and make some decisions when, whenever that time comes. But there's no rush. No rush, anything like that.

As of now, Connor McDavid isn't making any hasty decisions as he wants to win a title with the Edmonton Oilers and bring the Stanley Cup title back to Canada.

This core has been together for a long time and we’ve been building to this moment. … With that being said ultimately I still need to do what’s best for me and my family. But of course there’s unfinished business here.

Connor McDavid said that he's open to an extension especially if he feels he can keep on winning with the Edmonton Oilers.

NHL insider on Connor McDavid's future at Edmonton Oilers

As of now, Connor McDavid won't be going anywhere. The star player is still under contract and has not requested for a trade.  He is not thinking of forcing his way out of the town.

According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, he said via the Athletic that this year's offseason is going to be less dreadful than last year's.

The outset of this summer feels less precarious for the organization than the last one did. A year ago, the Oilers entered the offseason needing to extend Leon Draisaitl or look at trading him, because they were unwilling to let him play out the final year of his deal and potentially walk directly to free agency in 2025.

Bringing back Leon Draisaitl on such a deal is going to be costly, but for at least one more season, the dominant trio will be playing for the Edmonton Oilers.
