The Jaipur Pink Panthers brought the Puneri Paltan's eight-match winning streak to a halt with a 36-34 victory in their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match in Jaipur on January 13, Saturday. Despite trailing significantly at 20-11 by halftime, the Panthers mounted a strong comeback to secure an exciting win. Arjun Deshwal emerged as the standout performer for the Panthers, earning 16 points during the match.

 

In the initial stages, Deshwal secured a few raid points, pushing the Panthers into a 3-2 lead by the third minute. The Puneri Paltan soon tied the game at 5-5, but Deshwal continued to score raid points, leading the Panthers to a 9-6 advantage in the 9th minute. The Puneri Paltan's defense, however, remained resilient, narrowing the gap to 8-10 in the 12th minute.

 

Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh stepped up for Pune, helping to level the score at 11-11 in the 16th minute. Pankaj Mohite's impressive double-point raid in the 18th minute propelled the Puneri Paltan ahead at 14-11. Shortly afterward, the Pune team executed an ALL OUT, further extending their lead. The Puneri Paltan comfortably held a 20-11 lead at the end of the first half.

 

In the second half's early minutes, the Panthers tackled Mohit Goyat, but Shadloui continued to score tackle points for Pune, maintaining their lead at 21-13 by the 25th minute. However, Arjun Deshwal's SUPER RAID dramatically changed the game's dynamics, reducing the Pune team to a single player by the 29th minute. Shortly thereafter, the Panthers executed an ALL OUT, closing in on Pune's lead with a score of 22-23. Capitalizing on this momentum, the Panthers soon overtook Pune, leading 24-23.

 

Bhavani Rajput's exceptional raiding skills came to the fore when he eliminated Shadloui, extending the Panthers' lead to 28-23 in the 34th minute. Soon after, Deshwal scored another raid point, leaving Pune with just one player on the mat. The Panthers then inflicted another ALL OUT, securing a comfortable 32-26 lead. Despite this, the Puneri Paltan staged a late comeback, reducing the Panthers to a single player towards the game's end. In the final raid of the match, Bhavani Rajput kept his composure and ensured a thrilling victory for his team.
