Puneri Paltan marked a triumphant return to form, clinching the top spot in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 standings with a resounding 60-29 victory over Telugu Titans at Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna on Tuesday. The match saw stellar performances from Akash Shinde with 11 raid points, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh Shadloui contributing 7 points, and Abinesh Nadarajan with 5 tackle points, leading Puneri Paltan to a decisive win.
Entering the match following two consecutive draws, Puneri Paltan was determined to secure a full points haul. They wasted no time in asserting dominance, taking the lead from the first raid and quickly establishing an 11-2 advantage by inflicting an All-Out within just six minutes. The formidable raiding trio of Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat, and Akash Shinde maintained control, steering the team to a second All-Out by the 14th minute.
Telugu Titans struggled to mount a challenge, trailing by 16 points at 22-6. Their situation deteriorated as they failed to score for the remainder of the first half, leaving Puneri Paltan with a commanding 29-6 lead at the break.
The second half saw Puneri Paltan continue their onslaught, quickly extending their lead by 25 points with another All-Out. Telugu Titans captain Pawan Sehrawat, sidelined for 10 minutes in the first half, couldn’t turn the tide for his team.
Akash Shinde's remarkable three-point Super Raid further depleted the Titans, leading to yet another All-Out in the 28th minute and bringing the score to a staggering 45-11 in favor of Puneri Paltan. Both Abinesh Nadarajan and Shadloui completed High 5s, showcasing their defensive prowess.
In the game's final moments, Telugu Titans saw some success with Sanjeevi S’s Super Raid and an All-Out, but it was too little, too late to alter the match's outcome. Puneri Paltan's 31-point victory underscored their dominance and resilience, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.
