Charles Leclerc secured his second podium finish for Ferrari in the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix. During the race at the Suzuka International Racing Course, the Monégasque was involved in an intense battle with Mercedes' George Russell.

In the battle against George Russell, Leclerc pulled off a overtake on the Mercedes racer, which surprised everyone. The Ferrari driver's race engineer, Bryan Bozzi could not believe what he saw, as he dropped an amazing reaction through team radio.
George Russel was after Lewis Hamilton to claim P3 spot at the Japanese Grand Prix, when an issue in battery led Charles Leclerc to perform a overtake on him. Later Russell managed to cruise past Hamilton and then the Mercedes racer had a long battle with Leclerc for a podium finish.
During the 50th lap, Russell endured a battery issue and failed to defend his position against Leclerc while heading into Turn 1.
On the team radio, Leclerc's race engineer, Bryan Bozzi congratulated him saying:
"Due palle d'acciaio," which means "Two steel balls" in Italian.

In the ongoing 2026 season, Charles Leclerc is going through a fine form as he managed to bag two podiums in three races so far. The 28-year-old driver clinched third place in both Australian and Japanese Grand Prix
In the Chinese Grand Prix, Leclerc had a P4 finish following a tough wheel-to-wheel duel with his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. After three races, Leclerc sat at the third place in the 2026 Formula 1 Driver standings with 49 points for Ferrari.
