This Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series goes to Austin, Texas for the much-awaited EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). This first road-course race on the 2025 calendar promises to deliver exciting competition.

Atlanta Race Recap
The drama-filled race at Atlanta Motor Speedway ended last week with an extremely controversial caution call that gave the victory to Christopher Bell. Carson Hocevar claims his best career finish yet at second. Kyle Larson completed the top three. Ryan Blaney and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. closed out the top five, setting up a promising show at COTA for the upcoming event.

What to expect with the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix has quickly become one of the favorite events on the NASCAR schedule. This year, however, it will be shuffled around the calendar-one of the shifts will now take it earlier in the year rather than being the sixth race of the season. The event last year saw William Byron win by dominating everything, starting from the pole and leading 42 out of the 68 laps. Byron, who already won the Daytona 500 to kick off the 2025 season, currently stands second in the points standings behind Ryan Blaney.

Christopher Bell, who finished second at COTA last year after leading nine laps, will be wanting to improve on that this time around. Other strong contenders expected in the mix are Ty Gibbs, Alex Bowman, and Tyler Reddick, who made up the top-five in 2024.

Connor Zilisch Cup Series Debut
One of the most exciting stories heading into the weekend is that of Connor Zilisch, a budding star in racing, making his debut in the Cup Series. The young talent will drive a Red Bull-sponsored car for Trackhouse Racing-the formal return of Red Bull to NASCAR. Everyone will be watching Zilisch for performance as he faces the elite of the sport.
