McLaren stamped its authority on the 2025 Formula 1 season with a flawless 1-2 finish at the Miami Grand Prix, led by the ever-impressive Oscar Piastri. The Aussie driver’s third straight win, combined with Lando Norris’ strong recovery to second, has stretched McLaren’s lead at the top of the constructors’ table.
Verstappen started from pole but was unable to hold off the McLarens. An early clash with Norris forced the Brit off track and temporarily down the order, but Norris made a stellar comeback to secure second. Piastri, who had already overtaken Verstappen, never looked back.
It was a challenging day for Ferrari. Charles Leclerc finished seventh while teammate Lewis Hamilton followed in eighth after internal shuffles in track position. The Scuderia now sit over 140 points behind McLaren as the season approaches its quarter mark.
