Every driver in NASCAR performs burnouts after winning but that isn't the case when it comes to the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney.

The reason behind it is that he respects the car that got him the victory and also a quote from legendary NASCAR crew chief Dale Inman.

It is a norm that is followed by every driver in NASCAR where they perform burnouts after winning but that isn't the case when it comes to the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney. You can hardly see Blaney do burnouts after winning because he respects the car that got him the victory and also a quote from legendary NASCAR crew chief Dale Inman.

What did Dale Inman say to Ryan Blaney?

The major reason why Ryan Blaney doesn't like to do burnouts is because Inman once told him to respect the car that got you the win. Last year after winning at Talladega Superspeedway, Blaney did a burnout that surprised the fans. Later on, he revealed that he was very excited so he did one burnout and the reason why he avoids doing it.

In the post-race conference at Talladega, Blaney said, "Dale Inman pulled me aside one day, and he said, ‘Hey, you don’t see the winner of the Kentucky Derby get off his horse and start beating the s**t out of it.'”

"So, that’s why I don’t do burnouts. I didn’t do a burnout after one race, and he was like, ‘I like how you don’t do burnouts.’ And then he told me that story. And I was like, I am definitely not gonna do it. He might be mad at me for doing one and breaking our rule, but yeah," Blaney added.

Ryan Blaney did his first burnout when he won his first race of the 2024 season at the Iowa Speedway.

Kevin Harvick explains why Ryan Blaney avoids burnout

In the 35th episode of the 'Happy Hour' podcast, former NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick explained the reason why Ryan Blaney avoids burnout in his post-race celebration. The driver-turned-commentator would love to see Blaney do more burnouts after winning a NASCAR race.

"I think a Ryan Blaney that’s just letting loose, I think the fans will just love. I think some of that is just that he’s trying to be respectful to Dale Inman and Roger Penske. Ryan Blaney is a fun guy. He has a very fun side to him and has a great personality. I think if he just let it rip, the fans would just really gravitate and embrace him," Harvick said.
