HARMAN International has officially become a NASCAR Technology Partner to enhance the audio experience for racing fans through future race track audio upgrades. The partnership will enable NASCAR to integrate HARMAN Professional Solutions' advanced audio systems into its venues, ensuring high-quality sound for fans attending races.
HARMAN Professional Solutions, a global leader in developing cutting-edge audio systems for large-scale venues, will provide NASCAR with its renowned brands such as JBL Professional loudspeakers, Crown amplifiers, and BSS digital signal processing. These solutions are commonly deployed in stadiums, arenas, music festivals, theme parks, and performing arts centers worldwide.
Transforming Audio at NASCAR Venues
Through this collaboration, NASCAR plans to implement premium audio solutions at its 14 race track properties, including iconic venues like Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway. In addition to upgrading the primary exterior race track areas, NASCAR venues also feature interior spaces where audio clarity is critical for announcements, broadcast coverage, and music.
“JBL and NASCAR are two iconic brands that were founded just two years apart in the 1940s, and will now work together to enhance one of the most thrilling and widely attended sports in the world,” said Brian Divine, President of HARMAN Professional Solutions. “On any given day, thousands of fans around the world experience audio through a JBL system, and we are excited to collaborate with NASCAR through this technology partnership to bring them even closer to the action through superior sound.”
Ensuring Performance and Reliability
As the premier sanctioning body of stock car racing in North America, NASCAR draws millions of fans to its events every year, with even more watching from home. According to John Martin, NASCAR’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, reliability and performance are essential.
“With millions of fans attending NASCAR events in person each year -- and millions more watching on TV -- our races demand the highest levels of performance and reliability from all technical systems,” said Martin. “Not all suppliers can meet NASCAR’s rigorous standards, but HARMAN’s brands have a proven legacy of innovation, exceptional sound reproduction, and day-in, day-out reliability, making their products an ideal fit for our venues.”
Future Developments
Details regarding specific audio integrations and project timelines will be announced as the 2025 NASCAR season progresses.
