Spire Motorsports has announced that Justin Haley will replace Corey LaJoie in the No.7 car for the upcoming 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Haley is in his first season driving for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) and has two top-ten and 11 top-20 finishes so far this season. In 2019, Haley even won the Daytona summer race with Spire Motorsports.
A driver swap between Spire Motorsports and Rick Ware Racing
It was earlier announced by Spire Motorsports that Corey LaJoie would be leaving the team after the current season but on Friday, 20th September, both Spire Motorsports and RWR confirmed that there will be a driver swap between the teams. Corey goes to RWR and Haley will join Spire Motorsports next weekend at Kansas Speedway.
Justin Haley will be driving the No.7 car at the Hollywood Casino 400 and officially start his contract with Spire Motorsports. Meanwhile, Corey will drive the No. 51 car for the Rick Ware Racing squad.

The co-owner of Spike Motorsports, Jeff Dickerson was ecstatic after knowing that Haley would once again join the team and said, "We’ve both grown since that day, as Justin has proven his talent in the Cup garage and he comes back to an organization that is very different from the one he left a few years ago. Getting back together now, rather than waiting until 2025, gives us an excellent opportunity to build a baseline and be a step ahead when we get to Daytona next February."
Justin Haley will be joining hands with Rodney Childers who himself signed a multiyear deal with Spire Motorsports back in July 2024.
One of the biggest motivations you can have as a driver: Justin Haley
At the age of nine, Haley started his racing career while competing in the Quarter Midgets. In 2009 and 2010, he even won the KQMC and Indiana State Series titles. Then in 2019, he won the Daytona Coke Zero Sugar 400 after the race ended early. The following year, Haley won his first Xfinity race.
He also became the 32nd driver to win in all three of NASCAR's main racing series. Haley was thrilled to know that he would be working with Rodney Childers who is one of the top crew chiefs in NASCAR and said, "Having someone like Rodney behind you and supporting you on the pit box is one of the biggest motivations you can have as a driver and a team. I’m really looking forward to working with Rodney. He brings a lot to the table, especially for a younger driver like me. He had lots of success with Kevin (Harvick) for several years, and I feel like we have similar aspects to each other."
