Only one day is left before the start of the Paris Olympics 2024. On July 26, the starting bells of this Olympics will sound on the Seine River in Paris, and with that thousands of players will start the campaign to fulfill the biggest dream of their life. 117 players from India will also present the challenge and everyone is hoping that India will win more medals in Paris and leave their tally in Tokyo behind. In Tokyo, India had won a total of seven medals including one gold, two silver, and four bronze. India's medal account in Tokyo was opened with Mirabai Chanu's silver medal in women's weightlifting, but in Paris, India's account can be opened with shooting. India's first medal of the Paris Olympics may fall on 27th July.
The preliminary matches of badminton, shooting, tennis, rowing, table tennis, boxing, and hockey will be played on July 27, but in shooting, India can win the first medal of this Olympics on 27th of July itself. The medal event of the 10-meter air rifle mixed team will be played on Saturday. After qualifying for the medal round, Indian shooters can be expected to put on a great performance. The medal round will start at 2 pm, in which the pair of Sandeep Singh-Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta-Ramita Jindal will present the challenge.

Performance of the shooters in the mixed-event
Former Junior World Champion Elavenil Valarivan is being considered the strongest contender for the title. She is also in great form at the moment. Only last year she had won gold in the World Cup. She has four gold medals in the World Cup, which also included one from the mixed team event.
Sandeep Singh won the quota for the Paris Olympics by defeating the world champion who had won the quota in the Indian Olympic Selection Trials. He defeated Olympic quota winner Arjun and world champion Rudranksh Patil in the trials. Both of them got extra points, but still, they could not surpass Sandeep's score.
25-year-old Arjun achieved the Olympic quota by winning the silver medal in the Asian Shooting Championship last year. Meanwhile, Ramita won silver medal in team event and bronze medal in 10 meter air rifle at the Asian Games.
Indian players are seen as strong contenders for the medal in these events. But if the shooters are successful in maintaining their rhythm, then India can win its first medal in shooting at the Paris Olympics on July 27.
