The Asian Games 2023 saw Indian shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar shining brightly as he clinched a bronze medal in the Men's 10m Air Rifle event. With Tomar's remarkable performance, India's medal count in shooting rises to four, highlighting the nation's prowess in the sport.

This isn't Tomar's only notable achievement at the Games. He played an instrumental role in India's historic gold medal win in the 10m Air Rifle team event, where the team not only emerged victorious but also shattered the world record.

The final scoreboard displayed China's Sheng Lihao at the top, breaking the world record by amassing a colossal 253.3 points to secure the gold. South Korea's Hajun Park followed, clinching silver with an impressive 251.3 points. Tomar, showcasing consistent skill, took the bronze, further elevating India's stature in the shooting events at the Games.

Another Indian contender, Rudrankksh Patil, displayed commendable skill and determination, though he narrowly missed a spot on the podium, finishing fourth with a score of 208.7.

The Asian Games 2023 has been particularly special for the Indian Men's 10m Air Rifle team. Comprising Rudrankksh Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Aishwary Tomar, the trio collectively scored a staggering 1893.7 points during the individual qualification round. This phenomenal performance eclipsed the previous world record established by China at the Baku World Championship earlier in the year.

Breaking down the team's individual performances, Patil contributed 631.6 points, matched equally by Tomar's 631.6 points, while Panwar added 629.6 to the tally. Despite all three showcasing top-notch performances and qualifying for the top-8 in the 10m Air Rifle event, the Asian Games' regulations meant only Patil and Tomar proceeded to the finals, leaving Panwar on the sidelines.

The success stories from the Indian shooting contingent serve as a testament to the nation's growing dominance in the sport on the Asian platform.
