American pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter received a warm invitation from none other than Conor McGregor during her two-night concert stint in Dublin this week. The singer kicked off the European leg of her Short n Sweet tour at 3Arena on Monday, returning for a second performance on Tuesday—where she also made a subtle reference to Barry Keoghan.
McGregor’s Invitation to Black Forge Inn
Before her second show, McGregor took to Instagram to personally invite Carpenter and her team to his renowned pub, The Black Forge Inn, promising a “proper Irish dining experience.”He posted on his Instagram Story:
“Sabrina, our sweetheart, we are in @theblackforgeinn this evening if you and your team wish for a nice meal and drinks after your big show. Proper Irish dining experience, I would love to look after you all! Hope you're enjoying Ireland.”
Carpenter’s Performance & Nod to Barry Keoghan
Some of Carpenter's hits such as Espresso, Feather, and Taste were great delights for fans at her high-voltage performances in Dublin; however, the talk of the concert was her sly reference to Barry Keoghan just before going into Please, Please, Please, a song Carpenter wrote about the Irish actor asking him to be the "stand-up man" she believed he could be.
Barry Keoghan, who had appeared in Love/Hate and Saltburn, starred in the song's music video, in which Carpenter begs him not to let her down. Following the disintegration of their relationship, however, Carpenter moved on and even released a new video modeled on the original, featuring country legend Dolly Parton, which marked her moving on from the relationship.
Carpenter’s Take on Irish Men
While engaging with her fans at 3Arena, Carpenter made a playful remark about Irish boys, stating that they are “hard work”—a lighthearted moment that resonated with the crowd.
With her tour in full swing and McGregor’s hospitality offer on the table, it remains to be seen whether Carpenter will take him up on the invitation. Either way, her time in Ireland has certainly been eventful and unforgettable.
