Jey Uso shocked the WWE Universe by winning the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble match, despite many fans expecting John Cena to claim victory. Since it was Cena’s last Royal Rumble appearance, he was widely considered the favorite. However, in an unpredictable twist, Jey Uso eliminated Cena to secure the win.

In an interview with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail Online, Jey revealed that he only found out about his victory on the day of the event. WWE management called the final four competitors into a room and informed them of the decision.

Jey Uso’s Reaction to the News

Jey shared his experience, saying:

“I didn’t find out till the day of. They just sit down whoever is the last four.

We’ll have this group meeting, then, ‘Right, last four, stay.’ They call out the last four, I’m in the four, I’m like, ‘Oh damn.’ Then they’ll tell me right there, ‘You know, we’re going to go with Jey.’ I’m just looking around like, ‘Yeah.’

I’m freaking out the whole day, but it’s a good thing, it’s great, it’s good pressure to get put on you that day. And also moving forward, I’m just excited, because that’s a great title accolade to have under your belt, as a wrestler, and for me.”

 Choosing His WrestleMania 41 Opponent

As the Royal Rumble winner, Jey Uso had the opportunity to select his WrestleMania 41 opponent. Despite having suffered multiple losses to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, he still chose to face him over Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

 Determined to Prove Doubters Wrong

Jey Uso is aware of the skepticism surrounding his success but remains focused on proving himself. He reflected on his journey, saying:

“I have hit so many new things that I never thought I’d even scratch the surface on, but I’m the 2025 Royal Rumble winner now. I bet last year people would have never picked me. They didn’t pick me this year, but I just love this ride I’m on, and every week it changes.

I show up to work just ready to go. Whatever I’ve got to do, I’m going do it, and I feel like they see the hard work. I feel like Hunter (Triple H) knows. I bled for this, and he’s seen it because he went through it too, and he gave me this opportunity, and I’m just not going to let anybody down.”

A Potential Promo Battle with The Rock?

In the same interview, Jey Uso expressed interest in a promo battle with The Rock, who has now aligned himself with John Cena in WWE. With WrestleMania approaching, fans are eager to see if this confrontation will happen.
