Indian boxers Lovlina, Priya Ghanghas reaches Commonwealth Games final; who will they face next?

It was an absolutely stunning day for the boxers of the country, where India had 10 boxers competing in the gold medal finals.

Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) stormed into the finals of the Commonwealth Games 2026 after winning 5-0 against T.K.B.P Taafaki (TUV) as India continued to rule the boxing rings. She will next face Emma-Sue Greentree in the gold medal match. 

Further, Indian boxer Priya Ghanghas has also advanced to the women's 60kg final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Friday, defeating England's Lucy Kings-Wheatley by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the semifinal.

The reigning Asian champion, competing in her first Commonwealth Games, secured at least a silver medal with the victory. Ghanghas had earlier produced a notable comeback win against Scotland's home favourite Niamh Mitchell in the quarter-finals to guarantee a medal. 

The rising Indian star’s progress adds to India's strong showing in boxing at these Games, with several other Indian boxers also reaching the medal stages. The gold medal bout is scheduled for Saturday, 1 August. She will next face Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh in the gold medal match. 

In all, nine boxers have booked their spot in the final of the event, including Preeti (54kg), Ankush Phangal (80kg), Jaismine (57kg), Arundhati (70kg) and Jadumani Singh (55kg).
