WWE legend The Undertaker has weighed in on what he believes should happen during John Cena’s much-anticipated retirement tour. John Cena extended his remarkable WWE streak at the 2024 Royal Rumble, ensuring he has competed in at least one televised match every year since his main roster debut in 2002. Despite finishing as the runner-up to Jey Uso, fans continue to speculate about the possibility of Cena making one final run at the WWE Championship. Many supporters hope to see the 16-time World Champion claim a record-breaking 17th title, while others believe it’s time for him to focus on elevating younger talent.
The Undertaker’s Perspective on Cena’s Retirement Tour
During an appearance on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker discussed Cena’s farewell tour with guest Justin Danger Nunley. Nunley expressed his belief that Cena should not pursue a 17th championship due to his Hollywood commitments and should instead focus on putting other wrestlers over. Responding to this, The Undertaker acknowledged the argument but emphasized that Cena still deserves key victories before his full-time career comes to an end.
"I know where you’re going with that. He’s on his way out, this is his goodbye tour. I think putting him in marquee spots, he needs to get some wins because he hasn’t won in over 2,000 days. But he needs to get some key wins in whatever the key matches [are]. He should probably pass the baton on. I think that’s his mindset as well. I don’t think by any means he wants to get his hand raised every time, that’s not John’s character. I think he wants to pay it forward and do the best with this that he can do for the company," he said as qouted by ITR Wrestling.
Undertaker Reacts to Hulk Hogan’s Controversial WWE Raw Appearance
In a separate discussion on Six Feet Under, The Undertaker addressed the overwhelmingly negative reaction Hulk Hogan received during his surprise appearance on WWE Raw’s Netflix premiere.
Hogan Booed Out of the Building at WWE Raw
On January 6, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan made an unannounced appearance on Raw alongside Jimmy Hart. His goal was to hype up WWE’s new partnership with Netflix while promoting his Real American Beer, which had just been announced as a show sponsor. However, the segment quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons, as the Los Angeles crowd greeted Hogan with relentless boos. The reaction was widely covered by mainstream media, making it one of the biggest talking points of the night.
Undertaker Laughs Off Hogan’s Reaction
Addressing the moment on his podcast, The Undertaker found humor in the situation, noting that Hogan seemed unfazed by the crowd’s reaction.
"[Laughs] Here we go. [That reaction] was something. That was an ego pop [laughs]. I was there. When I saw him he was no selling it and pushing his beer. I wasn’t backstage when he came [back through the curtain]."
When Nunley jokingly asked if The Undertaker felt like giving Hogan a hug after the incident, he simply laughed and responded, “No.”
