Story Highlights:

Jon Jones is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Jon Jones returned to the Octagon in November at UFC 309.

In his return to the Octagon, Jon Jones defeated Stipe Miocic to retain his UFC Heavyweight Title.

After giving a build-up for a huge announcement, Jon Jones disappointed the fight fans with a social media post that is not at all related to an upcoming fight, let alone a UFC Heavyweight title unification match against Tom Aspinall.

In a post to his social media pages, Jones announced his support for a non-profit aimed at challenging the current U.S. healthcare system.

“While this may not be a traditional fight for me, it’s obvious that too many Americans are being hurt and forced into medical debt or bankruptcy by a Healthcare System so greedy that hospitals and insurers hide their actual prices so they can charge us whatever they want,” Jones began.

“Their “estimates” are bullshit and the corporate greed in American healthcare is breaking people and families across the United States. I’ve seen it countless times in my own community where I have friends, family, and neighbors who are afraid to even get the care they need because the entire system, without real prices upfront, is dishonest and rigged for corporate profit.

“Time to hold these healthcare bullies accountable. Power to the people… Power to the Patients.”

While Jones' initiative is towards a noble cause, the fact that it is not related to his return to the Octagon has let the fans down.

On Wednesday, Jon Jones took to social media to tease something big. Since he mentioned that he had a "big announcement" to make and moreover when he put the hashtag "Andstill" at the end of the note, it left the fans excited. Since Jones' post came at a time when speculations of a potential fight with Tom Aspinall or ultimate retirement are high, it made the fans contemplate several possibilities and got them thinking that they were about to get what they desired. Sadly, Jones had something else in mind.
