After being re-elected as the President of the United States, Donald Trump received a rousing reception at UFC 309, held at Madison Square Garden, where he was greeted with a standing ovation from the crowd.

UFC 309, one of the biggest UFC events of the year, featured a highly anticipated main event between heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. While the fight generated excitement, it also sparked controversy due to Miocic’s inactivity, with many fans believing that interim champion Tom Aspinall should have been Jones’ opponent instead. Jones defeated Miocic in the anticipated battle.

Trump was accompanied with a group that had One of the biggest entrepreneur in the World Elon Musk. UFC also showed a video about Trump's return to White House. Trump got a rousing reception and acknowledged the crowd.

Trump kept his promise

Trump, a longtime UFC supporter, made sure to attend the event, which could mark the final appearance of Jon Jones in the Octagon, coinciding with his first pay-per-view event after his election win.

This wasn’t the first time Trump had attended a UFC event, as he had previously been at UFC 302 earlier in the year to watch Islam Makhachev defend his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier. At UFC 309, the promotion aired a special video package highlighting Trump’s time as president, further energizing the crowd as he watched the action alongside fans. Every time Trump has walked out with UFC President Dana White, he’s been met with roaring cheers and applause, and this event was no different.

Dana White, speaking to TMZ Sports, compared Trump’s entrance to the arena to that of UFC star Conor McGregor, saying, "You know, it’s crazy when you think about it. When you think about fighter walkouts, whenever a fighter walks out to the cage, I mean, the two biggest that actually shake the arena are President Trump and Conor McGregor, two of the biggest fight walkouts ever."

Ahead of his re-election campaign, Trump had expressed his intention to attend UFC 309 if he won, revealing that he would either attend the event as president or, in the case of a loss, "be depressed and won’t bother going." Fortunately for the UFC, Trump was victorious and kept his word, attending to show his support for rising middleweight star Bo Nickal, whom he’s been following closely.

Trump recently discussed Nickal’s impressive college wrestling background during an appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, stating, "You know Bo Nickal? How’s he going to do? I think he’s terrific, he was like, almost undefeated in college." When asked when Nickal would be fighting again, Trump replied, "When is he fighting again? After the election? So, I’ll either go as president or I’ll be depressed, and I won’t bother going."

As the crowd roared in support, Trump’s presence at UFC 309 was a highlight of the night, showcasing his strong ties to the UFC and his ongoing enthusiasm for the sport.
