Badminton to see major changes in schedule, prize money and structure from 2027

Badminton will experience significant changes in scheduling, tournament structure and prize money from 2027. The number of televised matches will more than double, prompting a new six-tier tournament calendar including Super 1000, 750, and 500 events. Prize money will increase by 26.9 million USD. New formats include group stages and extended tournament days. India Open retains its 750 category while Sayyed Modi International is downgraded from 300 to 100.
