The 2026 French Open is all set to begin with its main draw on May 24th. Novak Djokovic confirmed his participation in the 2026 French Open, positioning himself for a potential record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title as the tournament gets underway at Roland Garros.

The 39-year-old Serb, seeded third following Carlos Alcaraz’s withdrawal due to a wrist injury, arrives hungry to add a fourth French Open crown to his collection and surpass Margaret Court’s all-time mark. Djokovic will open against France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

Djokovic’s path has been complicated by a disrupted 2026 season. Limited match play since reaching the Australian Open final in February, combined with a nagging shoulder issue and an early exit at the Italian Open, has left him with minimal clay-court preparation.

The Serbian superstar skipped his Geneva title defense to focus on Paris. Despite these challenges, his draw places him in the opposite half from World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, keeping alive the possibility of a dream final.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion continues to defy age with remarkable longevity. A three-time Roland Garros winner (2016, 2021, 2023), Djokovic holds the men’s record for most major titles and recently became the first player to reach 400 Grand Slam match wins.
