Novak Djokovic doesn't want to stop even at this age! Despite injuries and playing limited competitions this season, the Serbian continues to inscribe his name in the history books. His latest one includes him, surpassing his rival and friend Roger Federer’s record.
Novak Djokovic breaks Roger Federer's record for most career weeks in ATP Top 5
Djokovic, the former World No. 1 player, has surpassed Federer’s long-standing record for the most career weeks spent in the ATP top 5, reaching 860 weeks as of the latest rankings update on Monday. The 38-year-old Serb, currently ranked world No. 4, achieved the milestone through remarkable consistency and longevity, even while competing sparingly in recent months.
Federer had held the mark at 859 weeks. This latest accomplishment underscores Djokovic’s enduring dominance in men’s tennis. Already the record-holder for most weeks at world No. 1 with 428, he continues to rewrite the history books well into his late 30s.
The achievement comes as he prepares for the clay-court season, where maintaining his top-5 position could further extend his lead in multiple ranking categories. The 24-time Grand Slam champion’s pursuit of ranking longevity records highlights his exceptional career resilience since the ATP rankings began in 1973.
