Swiatek, Osaka out of US Open; quarterfinals set with THESE players in list

The women’s singles quarterfinals at the 2026 US Open are locked in after a dramatic fourth round that delivered upsets, comebacks and hometown drama at Flushing Meadows. Iga Swiatek suffered another early exit as her struggling form continues. The former World No. 1 was shocked by China’s Zheng Qinwen with a score of 7-5, 6-3. 

On the other hand, Naomi Osaka was another big blow for tennis fans. The four-time Grand Slam champion was blown out by Elena Rybakina, 1-6,4-6. Meanwhile, the quarterfinals still include some high-profile names with some rising stars in the line.

Defending champion and World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova, Americans Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro and Coco Gauff, rising Russian star Mirra Andreeva, Chinese qualifier Qinwen Zheng, and second seed Rybakina will fight for the semifinal spots.

Sabalenka, seeking a third straight US Open title, will face Noskova in a heavyweight clash of Grand Slam winners. Pegula meets fellow American Navarro in an all-US quarterfinal, while Gauff, the 2023 champion returning to the last eight for the first time since her title run, takes on Andreeva. 

The field blends power, experience and youthful momentum. With three Americans still in contention and several players capable of lifting the trophy, the title race remains wide open as the quarterfinals begin on Tuesday.
