The nexus between Djokovic and coach Murray was flourishing during the Australian Open 2025, where the Serb had a formidable run till the semifinal stage. However, the tumultuous season that followed, where results have been hard to come by in Djokovic's favour, brought an abrupt end to the dream alliance between the former rivals.

Novak Djokovic has opened up about working with Andy Murray, with whom he shared a fierce rivalry back in the heyday. Djokovic revealed that it was a mutual decision to part ways, and it was taken after both came to an understanding that they won't be able to pull out more from the association.
"We felt like we couldn't get more out of that partnership on the court, and that's all there is to it.
Despite the coalition ending after a short period, Djokovic stated that his respect for Murray will remain intact.
"My respect towards Andy remains the same, even more actually, I got to know him as a person.
"I think he has a brilliant tennis IQ, he has a very rare mind of a champion that obviously has achieved what he has achieved, and he sees the game incredibly well."

Djokovic Appoints Dusan Vemic As New Coach
After parting ways with Andy Murray following a 6-month stint as coach, Novak Djokovic has appointed Dusan Vemic as his new coach. This will be Vemic's second coaching term with Djokovic. The two previously worked together from 2011 to 2013.
Their earlier nexus fetched Djokovic three majors- Two Australian Open titles and one US Open. It will be intriguing to witness what result this partnership will reap this time, especially when Djokovic yearns for consistency.
