The Tennis fraternity welcomed an exciting update back in November 2024 when 24-time Novak Djokovic shook hands with his former rival Andy Murray and brought him to his coaching team. The partnership made waves during the Australian Open 2025 and it almost accomplished the mission as the Serbian had an invincible run till the semi-final. However, an unfortunate injury compelled him to exit following set 1 in the semi-final clash against Alexander Zverev and hence the wait for the historic 25th major has been prolonged.

Novak Djokovic On His Partnership with Andy Murray

Djokovic's exit from the Australian Open 2025 left the fans wondering about the future of the Djokovic-Murray partnership and as it turns out, Djokovic decided to extend Murray's stint as his coach at least till the French Open and could even go on till the Wimbledon 2025. 

Djokovic has once again opened up on Andy Murray being his coach and made it known that while the duration of their stint together is "indefinite", but can go on for a considerable period. Djokovic reveals the conversation that took place with Murray following the culmination of Australian Open 2025

"We had a chat the day after I finished the tournament and we reflected on the period we spent together," Djokovic told the ATP Tour's media channel. "We agreed he was going to take some time and think, speak with his family members and see if he decides to keep working.

"I expressed my desire to continue the collaboration with him so I am really glad he did accept. It is indefinite in terms of how long we are going to work together, but we agreed most likely in the States and some clay-court tournaments. We will see how it goes after that."

Novak Djokovic recovered from the injury he incurred during the Australian Open and has made a return to the court at the Qatar Open. He will be up against Matteo Berrettini in the opening round of the tournament.
