Coco Gauff has registered her place at the semifinals of the ongoing Wuhan Open 2025 tournament with a straight-sets victory. The American tennis star came past Laura Siegemund with a score of 6-3, 6-0 to finalize her spot at the last four. The US sensation completely dominated her opponent after taking the first set and shutting down the German player in the second.
The World No. 3 WTA star exchanged breaks early in the first set and took control as she broke Siegemund’s serve four times. With another dominating performance, the player now awaits to claim her position in the final for the title. Who will she face next?

Gauff is set to face a winner between World No. 2 Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini. The Polish star completely dominates their head-to-head record with 5-0 against the Italian tennis player. It is to be seen if the former World No. 4 can finally take her revenge on the Pole to face the American player next.

Meanwhile, before outlasting Siegemund, Guaff had defeated Zhang Shuai to reach the last eight of the WTA 1000 event in China. Following this, she made it to consecutive quarterfinal appearances at the tournament. Only country mate, Serena Williams has more WTA 1000 quarterfinals appearances than Gauff since the format’s inception in 2009. The former tennis star has 30 WTA 1000 last-eight appearances to her name.
