WWE's biggest event of the year is shaping up to be a blockbuster.

Following the April 7 episode of WWE Raw in Minneapolis, MN, World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER sat down with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant on the official Raw Recap podcast. The champion opened up about his current state of mind ahead of his scheduled title match at WrestleMania 41 and shared some honest insights about carrying the responsibility of being a top-tier WWE Superstar.

GUNTHER on WrestleMania Pressure: "I Always Knew Where I Belonged"

GUNTHER, known for his dominant reign and no-nonsense persona, didn't mince words when addressing the mental pressure of being a champion on the road to WWE's biggest stage.

“I never had an issue with fitting in those situations. I always knew what I’m capable of. I always knew where I belonged, so it was never a question for me that I would end up in those positions,” he said confidently.

Although GUNTHER admitted that this year’s WrestleMania storyline may not align with his personal vision, he’s more focused on doing what’s expected of a champion.

“Even though this year it’s not the scenario I wanted to be in, I have an opponent that’s overreaching by a mile, that is not on my level, and that’s what I’m carrying around with me right now, and going into that, if you ask me, am I excited? I don’t know. I don’t think there’s much excitement to that. I think there’s mostly… I’m a professional. I’m a professional wrestler. I’m the World Heavyweight Champion. There’s a duty to fulfill, and I’m going to do that.”

Keeping Emotions in Check: “It’s Too Intimate of a Question”

When asked directly about how excited he is for this year’s WrestleMania, GUNTHER chose to maintain a reserved approach.

> “I think my personal feelings, it’s too intimate of a question to answer, I think. I’m here to fulfill my duties as World Heavyweight Champion. That’s what I’m doing right now.”
