At WWE SummerSLam 2025, Lyra Valkyria fought Becky Lynch for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship in a No Disqualification fight. The match was subjected to a decent amount of criticism from the fans. A few botches and miscues raised eyebrows in an otherwise action-packed clash.

In episode 5 of WWE: Unreal season 2, Lyra Valkyria said that she felt like she let herself down. The 29-year-old struggled to manage her emotions and broke down into tears while speaking about it.

Lyra Valkyria disclosed that when she came to the backstage area following the fight, various stars appreciated her and Lynch for their creativity. She added that John Cena also came and said very motivating things. However, she continued to be sad with her performance that night.

The Cenation Leader turned babyface again ahead of his title defense at WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. He put his title on the line against Cody Rhodes and sadly lost it to The American Nightmare.
