WWE has made another round of talent cuts in 2025, with a number of high-profile wrestlers among those released from the roster. The confirmed names on the list include Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, and Gigi Dolin. Reports also suggest that Riley Osborne and Jakara Jackson may have been released, although these names have yet to be officially confirmed.

 Confirmed WWE Releases

Braun Strowman: His is one of the most massive former universal champions to ever be sent packing from the company. And this marks the end of his second tenure with WWE.

Shayna Baszler: Being the ex-UFC fighter and two-time former champion for the WWE Women's Tag Team titles, she too has been fired.

Dakota Kai: One of the essential members of the Damage CTRL faction, Dakota Kai's release has surprised everyone as she had been involved in key storylines just lately.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter: The duo in women's tag team, currently wreaking havoc in NXT, are among those affected by the cuts.

Gigi Dolin: Formerly of Toxic Attraction, Gigi Dolin's release is yet another blow to the NXT roster.

Rumors have had people speculating whether Cora Jade and Eddy Thorpe are among those released. Cora Jade was at least hinting about an uncertain future when she posted a message on X thanking the fans for an opportunity to live out her childhood dreams. That message sparked the rumor that she may also be part of the cuts.

The release of talent on this latest occasion has led to very strong reactions from the fan base across social media platforms worldwide. Most expressed a sense of disappointment over the company's decision to let go of such fine talents.

Triple H's role

Analyst Ibou posted on Twitter/X about the internal workings behind talent cuts, stressing that Triple H is the central figure in these decisions, especially when non-injured wrestlers are off TV.

“Triple H is the final say on any roster personnel decisions. Most non-injured wrestlers that are benched from the TV that he books are candidates to get cut whenever he’s told it’s time to shed roster salary.

The priority is that their books, and profit margins look good to shareholders after every quarter, which is why to juice up numbers, they shed contracts. Figuring out the WHEN on these matters is Ari [Emanuel] and Nick [Khan]. Figuring out WHO goes is Paul Levesque. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you’d have to be impressively naive to believe otherwise.”
