Johnson’s reasoning came down to timing and narrative.

With his absence in WrestleMania 41 and his words suggesting closure, it remains to be seen whether fans will see The Final Boss return to WWE again.

WrestleMania 41 lit up Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas over the weekend, drawing in more than 65,000 fans on both nights. While the event was packed with surprises and memorable moments, one notable absence left many WWE fans wondering — where was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is what every fan was wondering.

After an electric performance at WrestleMania 40, expectations were sky-high for a potential encore. However, fans had to settle for a Rock-less WrestleMania this time around.

The Rock Breaks Silence on The Pat McAfee Show

On Tuesday, the Hollywood superstar and former WWE Champion made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, where he addressed the elephant in the room.

“They know, when I come to them and lay this out, ‘Here’s how I feel it should go. We can insert Final Boss into the end of this finish, but then where do we go?’” Johnson explained, referencing his in-ring persona, “The Final Boss.”

 Prioritizing the Bigger Picture

Johnson emphasized that his decision not to return wasn’t made lightly. He admitted that his schedule and other professional commitments played a role in the choice.

“There are other commitments that I have, and I want to be careful that we’re not overstepping,” he said. “I can get involved in the finish, but why get involved in the finish when the spotlight should just be on John, 17, heel champion?”

 Cena’s Moment to Shine

Johnson’s reasoning came down to timing and narrative. After helping set the stage for John Cena’s character arc, The Rock believed his role had run its course.

“I think The Final Boss’ work is done,” he added.

That sentiment came following Cena’s monumental victory over Cody Rhodes, which marked his record-setting 17th world championship — surpassing Ric Flair’s iconic record.

Cena’s Surprise Confession: Hair Transplant Revelation

Cena, fresh off his big win, joined The Pat McAfee Show on Monday and dropped an unexpected personal update: he recently underwent a hair transplant. While Cena has got what he always wanted he is into the fag days of his career.

“It’s coming in,” Cena said, pointing to his newly sprouting hairline. “I listen to you idiots, I do.”

He didn’t shy away from the topic, either: “There’s another headline for you: hair transplant. There is no shame in that. I have a problem, I try to fix it,” Cena explained. “I’m not going to tell you who did it because I’m still waiting for it to get better. Once it’s better and I get the long flowing locks, I’ll be like, ‘Go to this guy.’”

With his absence in WrestleMania 41 and his words suggesting closure, it remains to be seen whether fans will see The Final Boss return to WWE again — or if the curtain has truly fallen on his in-ring legacy.
