For the regular season, Lakers will play the Warriors on opening night, which LeBron will miss. 

The NBA regular season is approaching, and the pre-season has already kicked off. The Los Angeles Lakers are playing without their superstar, down 2-0 in the exhibition games. Fans were hoping that LeBron James might attend at least one preseason game; however, it was later revealed that the NBA icon was recovering from an injury, and the franchise doesn't want to rush him as the regular season takes priority. 

Meanwhile, a new update is out, and it is reported that the 40-year-old will not be available for the start of the team's 2025-26 NBA season. 

NBA Insider updates on new LeBron James injury, when will Lakers forward return? 

Shams Charania has updated the Lakers fans with the new LeBron James injury which might not sound pleasing to the admirers. According to ESPN's NBA expert, the American basketball legend is suffering from sciatica on his right side which will sideline him for the start of the 2025-26 season. He tweeted: 

“Lakers star LeBron James is sidelined for at least 3 to 4 weeks due to sciatica on his right side. He is out for the start of the 2025-26 NBA season.”

The 17-time NBA champions are set to face the Golden State Warriors next, in the pre-season followed by a match against the Phoenix Suns. They will then play the Dallas Mavericks. For the regular season, they will play the Warriors on opening night, which LeBron will miss.
