Kuldeep Yadav conceded 29 runs from four overs and bagged a couple of wickets.

Kuldeep revealed that Rishabh Pant had saved Kuldeep's one over for Rahul Tewatia.

Kuldeep Yadav's final over of the innings turned out to be just what the doctor ordered for Delhi Capitals (DC). David Miller was going after the bowlers and the arrival of Rahul Tewatia put DC under pressure. Skipper Rishabh Pant had a long conversation with Kuldeep before giving him the 16th over. Kuldeep conceded five singles off the first five deliveries. With required run rate rising, Tewatia decided to attack Kuldeep but ended up losing his wicket.

After the match, Kuldeep revealed that he knew Tewatia is going to go for a slog-sweep and he decided to take the ball away from him.

“I bowled a few balls into the wicket to him, thought he might slog-sweep, it was a good plan from the keeper and we got the wicket,” the left-arm chinaman bowler told the broadcasters after DC’s four-run win over Gujarat Titans (GT).

Kuldeep also revealed that Pant had saved his one over for Tewatia. The left-handed batter went chasing the delivery outside off but managed a faint edge which went into Pant's gloves. He departed after scoring just four runs from five balls.

“We had a plan, coach and captain wanted one over when Tewatia came into bat. Luckily it worked out. You have to read the batsmen and see what they are trying to do,” he said.

In the high-scoring encounter at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, Kuldeep conceded 29 runs from his quota of four overs and picked up a couple of wickets. His first wicket was Wriddhiman Saha. He broke the second-wicket partnership in his second over. Saha went for a slash away from his body but Axar Patel jumped and took an excellent catch. He scored 39 runs from 25 balls. The partnership was of 82 runs.

Kuldeep happy with two points

Kuldeep was happy with his team’s fourth win of the tournament. He did not try too much when he came to bowl and stuck to his strengths. However, he acknowledged that the game could have gone either way in the final over.

“Happy to get the win. These two points are very important. Amazing game. When we went into the last over, knew it was going to be very tight,” he said.

“We batted well, 225 is a good total. I didn’t want to try too much when I came into bowl. Just focused on my lines and lengths and saw what the batters were trying to do.”
