Pacer Prince Yadav has been handed his ODI debut cap at his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) homeground. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer gave him the debut cap. Nitish Kumar Reddy was unavailable for selection as he is facing issues with his quadriceps.
Kuldeep Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been picked as well. Harsh Dubey and Prasidh Krishna have been benched.
Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and opted to bowl first at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Shahidi made three changes to the side. Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai and Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi are not in the laying eleven. Nabi is sick whereas Omarzai got injured in the first ODI. Darwish Rasooli has been handed his ODI debut cap. Shahid also included Bilal Sami and Nangeyalia Kharoti for their must-win game.

In the rain-curtailed 25 overs per side game, Krishna conceded 35 runs from four overs. He remained wicketless and got benched. Left-arm spinner Dubey took three wickets but conceded 47 runs from five overs.
For Afghanistan, Sharifi got benched. He got the wicket of vice-captain Iyer but conceded 39 runs from four overs.
