India celebrated their Asia Cup win without trophy.

India beat Pakistan by five wickets in Asia Cup 2025 final.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) took a brutal dig at Asian Cricket Council president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi as India celebrated their Asia Cup triumph without the trophy after defeating Pakistan in the title decider at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.

DC took their 'X', formerly known as Twitter to share a clip where he edited a trophy in India's celebrations after their five-wicket win against Pakistan in the mega event. The Delhi-based franchise captioned "fixed it in their video.

Why does India celebrate the Asia Cup win without the trophy?

Suryakumar Yadav-led India refused to take the trophy and medals from Mohsin Naqvi because he is an interim minister in the Pakistan government. India and Pakistan had no diplomatic ties, and things got worse after the Pakistani-funded terrorist attacked Indian tourists in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam. India responded with Operation Sindoor to counter cross-border terrorism.

The Trophy ceremony was delayed for at least an hour, and during that delay, the Indian squad was on the ground alongside coaches and support staff, and Mohsin Naqvi was there with some of the dignitaries at the stage.

However, India told the ACC that they will be happy to receive the trophy from Emirates Board vice chairman Khalid Al Zarooni, but that request was denied by Mohsin Naqvi, who himself wanted to present the medals to the Indian team.

The BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said that the Indian Cricket Board will launch a very serious and strong protest against Mohsin Naqvi's act in the upcoming ICC conference, which is scheduled to take place later this year in November.

"There is an ICC conference in November in Dubai. In the next conference, we are going to launch a very serious and very strong protest against the act of the ACC chairperson," said Saikia.
