Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved a massive milestone on Day 4 of the second Test between the Indian Cricket Team and Bangladesh which is being played at the Green Park Cricket Stadium in Kanpur, on September 30 (Monday). He was able to pick up his 300th Test wicket.
In order to reach 300 wickets in the format, Ravindra Jadeja claimed the final wicket in Bangladesh's first innings. In Test cricket, Jadeja became the first left-arm spinner for India and the third in the world to accomplish this achievement. In addition, he set a record for the fastest all-around to reach 3,000 runs or more and 300 wickets or more in Tests.

In his 74th Test, Jadeja accomplished the feat and became the 12th all-rounder to do so. Ian Botham of England holds the top place, having accomplished the feat in 72 Tests. Imran Khan of Pakistan (75), Kapil Dev of India (83), Richard Hadlee of New Zealand (83), Shaun Pollock of South Africa (87), and his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin (88) are the players that trail Jadeja. In terms of deliveries bowled, Jadeja became the second-fastest Indian bowler to get 300 wickets in Test matches. In 17,428 balls, he crossed the 300-wicket threshold. Ashwin leads with 15,636 balls.

“It's special (300 Test wickets). I've been playing Test cricket since 10 years and I've finally reached this milestone. Feeling proud of myself. Always happy and excited whenever I wear the Indian jersey. As a youngster I started in white ball cricket. Everyone used to say I'm a white-ball specialist. Gradually I improved my game and it has paid off in the last few years. When I go for batting, I always look to give myself some time and understand the situation. I react to the ball and play my shots. We batted very well. Whatever we planned, we batted accordingly. Hopefully, we get them out as early as possible,” said Jadeja in the post-match presentation.
In response to Bangladesh's 233 all-out in the first innings, the Indians chose to go all out with the bat. After scoring runs at an average of 8.22 per over, India eventually declared their innings at the fall of the penultimate wicket, having only gone 285 for nine in just 34.4 overs. Then before stumps on Day 4, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two more wickets. At the end of the day 4, Bangladesh is batting at 26-2.
