Harbhajan Singh made a massive prediction that Virat Kohli will make a hundred against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. If he succeeds, the former spinner declared he would do bhangra. With just one fifty in his last six games, Kohli is not in his greatest form going into the encounter. During the Bangladesh match, the outstanding batsman was dismissed by a leg-spinner once more.
Harbhajan Singh on Virat Kohli
In an attempt to turn his luck, Kohli arrived at the Saturday practice 90 minutes early and was spotted leading the squad onto the field. Harbhajan stated in an interview with India Today that he believes the great batsman would reach his 51st ODI century during the match against Pakistan. The spinner added that Kohli has the support of the entire country.
"I'm going to make a big prediction and prediction here. How about Virat Kohli getting 100 versus Pakistan? Yeah, so no matter how his last 4 months are gone, people will obviously remember if you go on to get 100 tomorrow. So come on, Cheeku, the whole nation is behind you. I am hoping that you get 100, and I'm going to do bhangra after the game now," said Harbhajan.
According to Harbhajan, the squad needs Kohli to get back to his best since he knows his position well. As the competition becomes more difficult, the former spinner also encouraged Kohli to perform well. Harbhajan believes that this is the perfect moment for Kohli to get back to his best.
"He understands his role. People are looking forward to see Virat Kohli bat and score runs, and the team needs him more than anybody else. And, of course Virat Kohli, when the competition becomes harder, players like him always come to the party, and this is the right time for him to hit the form and good to see him back in the nets early and practising harder than the others," said Harbhajan.
In the World Cup semi-final on November 15, 2023, Kohli scored his last ODI century against New Zealand.
