Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian T20I team which is scheduled to feature in a five-match T20I series against England, will assemble in Kolkata on January 18 and practice for 3 days before playing their series opener at the Eden Gardens Stadium. Team India will hold a 3-day camp before their T20I series against England.
As per sources close to Sports Tak, Team India will arrive in Kolkata on January 18 and hold a three-day camp before the first T20I, which will take place on January 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Suryakumar Yadav-led India will hope to continue its winning momentum in T20Is. After winning the T20 World Cup, Team India dominated in T20Is. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and South Africa, and now it will look to repeat the same against the three lions.
India's legendary speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been rested from the series after an extremely hectic tour of Australia, where he got injured midway through the final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India pacer Mohammed Shami will make his international comeback in the T20I series before the Champions Trophy.
As per the sources, England are also arriving on Saturday, January 18, same as the Indian team.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has also planned a special tribute to legendary women's cricketer Jhulan Goswami, with a stand set to be named in her honour at the iconic stadium. The tribute will take place during the match break. Before the match day, the CAB will also felicitate the junior women’s Bengal cricket team, with former Indian captain Mithali Raj as the guest of honour.
