India's spin legend Harbhajan Singh is optimistic about Team India's chances in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. So far, India have been one of the standout teams in the tournament and seems poised to secure a spot in the semifinals. India remain unbeaten in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup. During the group stages, they secured victories in three of their four matches, while one was called off due to a wet outfield. Facing challenging batting conditions, India managed to defeat teams like Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in low-scoring encounters, with their bowlers shining in each match.
In their first Super 8 match, the team led by Rohit Sharma delivered a comprehensive performance with both bat and ball. India set a target of 181 for 8 in 20 overs on a difficult pitch, thanks to a superb half-century by Suryakumar Yadav. The bowlers then dismantled Afghanistan’s batting lineup, dismissing them for just 134, leading India to a convincing 47-run victory.

The former Indian spinner highlighted that each player has played a vital role in India's impressive campaign thus far. He believes that if the team continues to display the same level of determination, they have a strong chance of securing their first T20 World Cup victory since 2007.
"Our team has shown exceptional form in the T20 World Cup so far, with every player in the playing 11 contributing significantly. We have been playing our A-game ticking all the boxes. The boys are in great touch, and the confidence is high. If we continue to play with the same determination, intensity, and passion I do not doubt that we can get over the line and bring the World Cup home for the first time after 2007," Harbhajan said, as quoted by IANS, on Disney+ Hotstar.
