Experienced wicketkeeper-batter has drawn similarities between current England skipper and ex-India skipper MS Dhoni, comparing the captaincy skills of both the prolific leaders. Karthik believes his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper, Morgan, has had the same impact on the English side which Dhoni had on the Indian unit.
England are currently favourites to clinch the ongoing T20 World Cup, having won all four matches so far. Jos Buttler unbeaten 101 off 67 balls helped England edge Sri Lanka on Monday and recording a staggering +3.183 in the Group A standings.
"MS DHONI is to India what EOIN MORGAN is to England Well led @Eoin16. Brilliant yesterday. The team to beat this World T20 is @ECB_cricket #WorldT20 #CricketTwitter," wrote Karthik on Twitter.
With the comprehensive win over Sri Lanka, Morgan also surpassed Dhoni and Afghanistan's Asghar Afghan in registering the most number of wins by a captain in men's T20 Internationals.
Morgan now has 43 wins from 68 T20I matches he led England, while Dhoni -- who retired last year -- had won 42 matches out of 72 he played as India skipper.
Afghan, who retired from all formats on Sunday after the match against Namibia in the ongoing T20 World Cup, had captained Afghanistan to 42 wins out of 52 games.
