India's legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh on Wednesday hit out again at Mohammad Amir, saying that the former Pakistan speedster hasn't got any "credibility". He also appealed to Pakistan Prime Minister and former skipper Imran Khan to "open schools" for "kids" like Amir, who need to learn basic etiquette while having a word with senior players.
Harbhajan and Amir were involved in an ugly spat on social media following Pakistan's 10-wicket win over India in their opening game of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Both the players had a heated exchange on Twitter, that started with Harbhajan responding to Amir's sly dig on India's defeat.
“Who is Mohammad Amir and what is his credibility? He is the same player who was involved spot-fixing back in 2010. He has played a handful of games against Pakistan and he's betrayed his country. Such players are a blot on the sport and there's no point in getting into an argument with him,” Harbhajan told Aajtak.
"I appeal to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to open schools for such kids and teach them etiquette (tehzeeb)" he further said.
"hello everyone woh pochna yeah tha @harbhajan_singh paa ji ne TV to ni tora apna koi ni hota hai end of the day its a game of cricket," Amir had tweeted on Sunday.
In response, Harbhajan shared a video from the 2010 Asia Cup, where he had hit the winning runs for India off Amir's bowling. The barbs continued with Amir sharing a video of a 2006 Test match in Lahore where Shahid Afridi had hit Harbhajan for four consecutive sixes.
Harbhajan also attacked Amir by reminding him of his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal in the Lord's Test against England.
"Lords mai no ball kaise ho gya tha ?? Kitna liya kisne diya ? Test cricket hai no ball kaise ho sakta hai ? Shame on u and ur other supporters for disgracing this beautiful game," Harbhajan had written.
