England’s wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler feels England can win the T20 World Cup this year despite the absence of star all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer. While Ben Stokes is on an indefinite break from cricket to prioritise on his mental health, Jofra Archer had ruled himself out after he suffered a recurrence of a stress fracture in his right elbow.

“We are certainly one of the favorites, we are a brilliant team. I know we’re going to be missing Ben and Jofra, two superstars, but, you still look down that list and there’s some real-match-winners in our side”, according to Reuters.

Coach Chris Silverwood named batter Liam Livingstone and fast bowler Tymal Mills as the replacements in the England squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which begins from October 17.

Eoin Morgan-led England will take on West Indies in the opening match of the World Cup on 23 October in Dubai.

Buttler was a part of the England team that played the 2016 T20 World Cup final against West Indies at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where Carlos Brathwaite smashed Ben Stokes for four sixes in a row to give West Indies the title win. Buttler feels England team is now stronger after many players have featured in the Indian Premier League, Big Bash League and other tournaments over the years.

The wicket-keeper batter also picked India and West Indies as the two teams, who will be a big threat for England in the marquee event.
