India men's team head coach Gautam Gambhir lavished praise on the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side as they defeated Australia by five wickets in the semifinal clash of the Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Team India chased down a mammoth 339-run target against Australia to seal their berth for the title decider of the mega event at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Gambhir, who is currently in Australia with the Suryakumar Yadav-led side, took to his 'X' (formerly Twitter) to laud Team India for their win against the defending champions in the do-or-die clash. 

"It ain’t over till it’s over! What a performance girls" wrote Gautam Gambhir.

Coming back to the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 semifinal, Jemimah Rodrigues played an unbeaten match-winning knock, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur blasted a run-a-ball 89 as India knocked out defending champions Australia from the mega event.

Rodrigues, playing one of the finest innings of her career, remained unbeaten on 127 off 134 balls (14x4), while Harmanpreet’s 88-ball 89 (10x4, 2x6) provided the perfect foil. The duo added 167 runs for the third wicket to rescue India from 47 for 2 after early blows to Shafali Verma (10) and Smriti Mandhana (24). Kim Garth’s fiery spell (2-29) had put Australia in control before Jemimah and Harmanpreet rebuilt the innings that helped the hosts to register a five-wicket win in their do-or-die clash.

India will now face South Africa in the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 final, which will take place on November 02 at the same venue.
