The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a reward of INR 1 crore to Kranti Goud for her performances in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025, where the Women in Blue defeated South Africa to win the title.

Harmanpreet-led side defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on November 02 to guide India to their first-ever ICC silverware. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated the team for their performance, highlighting the achievements of Kranti Goud, a representative of Madhya Pradesh.

"I want to congratulate everyone for the way the daughter of our state and the daughters of the country performed brilliantly in cricket last night," Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told reporters here.

India’s women are excelling in various fields, mirroring the country’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he stated.

"Madhya Pradesh's daughter Kranti Gaud was also part of the women's World Cup-winning team. I want to congratulate Kranti and give her an incentive of Rs 1 crore from the state government. I announce to give Rs one crore to Kranti, the daughter of Chattarpur," the CM said.

India vs South Africa World Cup final

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India put on a brilliant performance after being asked to bat in the title decider. Indian openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana get off to a good start and stitched a 104-run stand. Shafali ended up missing out on her hundred by a whisker and got dismissed for 87 runs. However, a fantastic half-century from Deepti Sharma and an impactful cameo of 34 from Richa Ghosh saw the Women in Blue post a daunting total of 298/7 after 50 overs.
