Shafali Verma was the standout performer, smashing a blistering 87 off just 78 balls, while the dependable Smriti Mandhana (45) set the tone early. The momentum was maintained by Deepti Sharma, who anchored the middle overs with a composed 58, and was followed by a crucial late blitz from Richa Ghosh (34 off 24), ensuring the total neared the 300-run mark.

In reply, South Africa's chase was bravely anchored by their captain, Laura Wolvaardt, who stroked a valiant 101. However, the lack of lasting support proved fatal. Deepti finished with a magnificent 5/39 in 9.3 overs, systematically dismantling the South African middle and lower order.
